Job Description:
Working under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator supervises the Peak 7 Adventures outdoor activities including whitewater rafting, rock climbing, backpacking trips and wilderness medicine. The Program Coordinator is expected to accomplish this through booking trips, teaching and coordinating staff and volunteers while ensuring strict quality and safety standards. The position requires being physically and emotionally capable of safely leading youth in each of our programs.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Have a thorough knowledge of all activity policies approved by the administrative team.
• Delegate specific duties. Supervise implementation and analyze staff effectiveness. Evaluate all participants.
• Provide documentation to fulfill insurance requirements concerning parent consent, emergency information, risk management, trip reports and permission forms. Maintain a permanent file of all participants.
• Provide proper safeguards for maintenance, inventory and protection of equipment and facilities.
• Be accountable for all equipment issued and collect the cost of any equipment lost or not returned.
• Properly mark and identify all equipment before issuing or storage. Provide for cleaning, repairing and storing of all equipment.
• Instill in each participant a respect for equipment, its care, and proper use.
• Promote the outdoor programs through recruiting participants, with special attention to at-risk youth.
• Maintain good public relations with news media, parents, and local outdoor representatives.
• Meet with and make presentations to churches, organizations and individuals to build awareness and get people involved with Peak 7 Adventures.
• Plan, organize and schedule programs
• Accomplish all other duties assigned by the Program Manager and or administrative staff
Minimum education and work experience:
• Commitment to Jesus Christ which reflects Christ in every aspect of his/her vocation and personal life.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Washington Raft Guide Certification
• Valid certification in CPR and First Aid
• Wilderness First Responder Certification (WFR)
• Substantial knowledge and experience in outdoor related skills and an understanding of procedures pertinent to outdoor programs.
• Knowledge of personal computers and software, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the Operational Team, employees, volunteers, and public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of duties, working conditions, and priorities.

• Ability to set realistic objectives and attain them.
• Deep interest in issues that affect Peak 7 Adventures.
The incumbent must be a person who embodies the following:
