Peak 7 Adventures exists to ensure every young person has the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through wilderness experiences. Peak 7 Adventures targets youth who come from low-income families or troubled circumstances who would normally not have these opportunities.
For the 2011 season, Peak 7 Adventures will serve at-risk youth in three primary ways:
Whitewater Rafting -
Guides interact as role models, talk about the beauty of God's creation leading the group in facing their fears through class 3/4 rapids. Washington trips are usually half of a day while Oregon trips can last up to six days.
Ascent - Five incredible days in the wilderness can lead to intense experiences with God and fellow backpackers. While hiking 3-6 miles a day into some of the most scenic areas of the Cascade Mountains, guides help participants understand how to overcome physical and mental challenges which can be directly applied to their personal life back home.
Climbing - Guides interact as role models, talk about the beauty of God's creation leading the group in facing their fears through rock climbing. Staff and participants have a chance to hang out at the wrap-up BBQ.
