Whitewater Rafting/Rock Climbing Guide

Oregon area guides are trained as paddle raft guides to run trips on class II and IV rivers in WA and OR. They will also guide rock climbing and overnight basecamp trips. We are looking for people with effective communication skills, who are enthusiastic about teaching and sharing outdoor activities with others, have the ability to work well under pressure, and who are able to respond quickly to emergencies with appropriate judgement. Previous experience kayaking, guiding, or in other whitewater sports is preferred, but not required.

Job responsibilities include guiding paddle rafts, loading and unloading boats and gear, leading games and discussions with youth, cooking and preparing food for clients, and cleaning and maintaining gear at the warehouse between trips.

Season Commitment: Full time, June 1, 2021-August 31, 2021 (End date flexible)

Compensation:  $0 – $1200 stipend, depending on leadership experience, with the option to fundraise support with the help of Peak 7. Raft Guide Training meeting WA state requirements. Food and housing provided.

Job Requirements:
  • Commitment to Jesus Christ reflected in your life
  • 18 years of age or older
  • CPR and WFA, or ability to complete WFR/CPR certifications during initial training
  • Oregon State Food Handlers Permit (Reimbursed by Peak 7 Adventures)
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry objects weighing over 70 lbs, and pull yourself up into a raft.
  • Doctor’s physical within the last two years
