Challenge Course and Experiential Education
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can my team grow through team building?
Peak 7's low ropes course programming is designed to push participants out of their comfort zones, fostering teamwork and problem-solving as groups work together to navigate physical and mental challenges. Whether it’s stepping through a spider web, crossing cables, or conquering the team wall, every activity is built to encourage growth, improve group dynamics, and boost morale. It’s not just about the physical obstacles—it's about how your team responds, learns, and grows together.
2. Why choose Peak 7 Adventures' Spokane-based challenge course and experiential education program?
Perfect for school or church groups, sports teams, business groups or community organizations, Peak 7’s team building experience creates lasting bonds and equips participants with the tools to tackle challenges both in and out of your school, church or workplace. Let us help you build a stronger, more connected team—one challenge at a time!
3. What does custom program design mean?
No two groups are the same—and our approach to team-building reflects that. We collaborate with group leaders to understand your unique goals, dynamics, and desired outcomes. From there, we design a custom program that meets your group where they are and helps move them forward—whether that means building trust, strengthening communication, or simply having fun together! Cookie cutter programs don't 'move the needle' in a meaningful way for groups, so we just don't do it.
4. What types of activities are included?
You won't find high challenge course elements, harnesses or helmets here. We focus on the TEAM, not the individual. Our highest challenge course element, the team wall, takes participants a maximum of 12 feet off the ground and is reserved for groups looking for a strong physical challenge. Most elements are much lower, offering a more approachable experience for height-wary individuals. We also offer a number of very low impact elements that are inclusive and appropriate for all ages. Our portable experiential education program centers on low-impact activities that are appropriate for individuals of all levels of physical ability. Our facilitators take into account the physical ability of all group participants and choose the activities that are most suitable for the entire group.
5. What can I expect from the experience?
Expect a dynamic, hands-on experience designed to challenge, connect, and empower your group. From the moment you arrive, our trained facilitators will guide your group through purposeful activities that promote trust, communication, problem-solving, and fun. Programs are tailored to your group’s size, age, and goals—whether you’re looking to build stronger relationships, develop leadership skills, or simply enjoy a shared adventure. Most groups begin with engaging ground-based initiatives before moving into high-ropes elements (if desired), all while emphasizing safety, inclusion, and personal growth.
Come ready to step outside your comfort zone, support one another, and walk away with stronger bonds and lasting memories.
6. What size groups do you work with?
On-site at the UGM Camp challenge course, we work with groups ranging from 8 to 100 participants. Participants are typically divided into sub-groups of 8–12 to ensure meaningful engagement, but we can also incorporate large-group initiatives as part of your session. Our portable experiential education program is a great option for very large groups of 100+ and groups with transportation challenges and tight schedules. We bring the program to your location. This option is highly recommended for conference groups who may only have a few hours to commit to team building. We can currently handle groups of 200 at one time, and can stagger programming for even larger groups.
7. How long do team building sessions last?
You decide how deep you want to go! For onsite challenge course programs, we require a minimum of 4 hours for the best impact, but we’ve facilitated programs lasting up to 16 hours over two days for overnight groups. More time means more opportunity for growth, trust-building, and reflection. Our minimum session length for portable programs is 2 hours or more.
8. Can team building be paired with other Peak 7 programs?
Yes! If you are booking another Peak 7 program trip (rafting, rock climbing, etc), you can add team building to create a full day of intentional adventure. Inquire at scheduling.
9. What ages are the team building programs suitable for?
The minimum age for both our on-site challenge course program and portable experiential education program is 8 years old. There is no maximum age.
