The Glacier Peak Wilderness is a rugged and remote backcountry in Washington’s Cascades, centered around the volcanic Glacier Peak and known for its glaciers, alpine meadows, and dense forests. It offers a true wilderness experience with limited access, making it ideal for those seeking solitude, challenging terrain, and pristine natural landscapes.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate-Advanced
No prior backpacking experience is required; however, participants should be in good shape and be prepared to hike many miles a day at high elevations with a loaded pack. For many of the routes in this area, prior backpacking experience will be beneficial, but there are certainly beginner friendly routes within the park.
