Whitewater Rafting Guide

Whitewater raft guides will be based in Spokane and run both single and multi-day trips on Class III rivers in WA and OR, including the Spokane, Wenatchee, and Deschutes rivers. We are looking for people with effective communication skills, who are enthusiastic about teaching and sharing outdoor activities with others, have the ability to work well under pressure, and who are able to respond quickly to emergencies with appropriate judgement. Previous experience kayaking, rafting, or in other whitewater sports is preferred. Guides will go through our Wilderness First Responder course and Whitewater Raft Guide course.

Job responsibilities include guiding paddle rafts, loading and unloading boats and gear, leading games and discussions with youth, cooking and preparing food for clients, and cleaning and maintaining gear at the warehouse between trips.

Job Requirements:
  • Commitment to Jesus Christ reflected in your life and alignment and agreement with our Statement Of Faith.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Oregon State Food Handlers Permit (Reimbursed by Peak 7 Adventures)
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry objects weighing over 70 lbs, and pull yourself up into a raft.
  • Doctor’s physical within the last two years

Qualifications:
  • Comfortable swimming through waves, underwater, and in moving water
  • Able to stay calm and clear-headed in chaotic and dynamic situations
  • Hard worker who can self-manage and start projects
  • Able to speak clearly and with authority while guiding
  • Respect and understanding for the highly diverse cultures and populations we serve
  • Able to stay positive and motivate others to overcome challenges
  • Passionate about inviting others into the world of outdoor adventure.
